Nintendo Wii Video Game System

The Wii system supports wireless connectivity with the Nintendo DS without any additional accessories. You can plug in your old GameCube controller and memory cards and play those games on it too. You can connect the GameBoy Advance to it as well.
Nintendo Wii system boasts 512 MB of internal flash memory, two USB 2.0 ports, and a slot for SD memory expansion. Instead of a tray, Wii uses a single, self-loading media bay that will play both 12-centimeter optical discs used for the new system, as well as Nintendo GameCube discs. The Wii uses a storage system similar to the GameCube, which uses “block” units rather than bytes. The conversion from blocks to bytes is roughly 8.12 blocks to one megabyte.
Nintendo Wii System Software is capable of downloading updates to its core operating software. Updates are included with certain Wii games, both requiring one to be fully updated in order to play and providing the update should one lack the necessary internet connection. When a new update becomes available, Nintendo sends a message to connected systems notifying them of the available update.
